Twenty-four-year-old Trista “Tasha” Marie Yelding was staying at a friend’s home on Raybon Road in Theodore, Alabama, when something went terribly wrong.
According to those who were with her, Trista suffered a panic attack and suddenly ran into the surrounding woods.
She never came back.
A Frantic Search
Despite immediate concern and extensive searches, no one has seen or heard from Trista since April 3, 2017.
What makes her disappearance even more alarming is what she left behind.
Her cellphone.
Her purse.
Her identification.
Her critical medical supplies.
Everything remained at the home.
An Endangered Missing Person
Trista has epilepsy and a panic disorder, conditions that place her at significant medical risk without treatment.
Because of those circumstances, law enforcement considers her an endangered missing person.
She was born on June 20, 1992, and was described as a Black female standing between 5 feet and 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
She has two distinctive tattoos:
- “Regina” on her right arm.
- “Baby Rattler” on her left thigh.
She was last seen wearing a pink hat, a blue Baldwin County shirt, and black pants.
Trista is fluent in both English and American Sign Language.
Eight Years Without Answers
Over the years, investigators have conducted extensive searches, but they have not located Trista.
In 2018, forensic testing confirmed that human remains discovered in the area were not hers.
More than eight years have passed.
Her family continues searching for answers and hoping someone knows what happened after Trista ran into those woods.
