Thirty-seven-year-old Tammyetta Michelle Spaulding began that Friday like so many other mothers.

She dropped her two daughters off at school.

She went to work at Comcast.

She left work early and was later seen at a payday loan business on Ellis Avenue.

She also spoke briefly with her father, promising she would call him back.

She never did.

Tammyetta vanished without a trace.

A Routine Day That Ended in Mystery

Two days later, on September 5, 2016, Tammyetta’s dark blue 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was found abandoned behind a gas station near Savanna Street and Interstate 55 South in Jackson.

The discovery only deepened the mystery.

The keys were gone.

The SUV had been meticulously wiped clean.

Investigators found no usable fingerprints.

Not even Tammyetta’s own.

A Chilling Anonymous Phone Call

Then her family received a phone call they have never forgotten.

An anonymous caller told Tammyetta’s aunts:

“You might as well stop looking for your niece. You’ll never find her. They used a lot of acid to get rid of the body.”

The caller also claimed an ex-boyfriend was involved.

To this day, law enforcement has not confirmed those statements or publicly identified a suspect.

A Family Still Waiting

At the time of her disappearance, Tammyetta was between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed between approximately 265 and 350 pounds. She had brown eyes, very light skin, blonde hair, and wore black eyeglasses.

She was last seen wearing either a brown sweater dress or a black T-shirt with gray sweatpants, along with a black ball cap.

Tammyetta also had diabetes and a history of serious heart disease that required daily insulin injections.

Her medication was left behind when she disappeared.

Nearly a decade has passed.

Her daughters have grown up without their mother.

Her family continues searching for answers and hoping someone will finally come forward with the truth.
