Colerain Township, Ohio — India Kinamore should have been preparing to welcome her baby into the world.
Instead, prosecutors say she became the victim of a calculated murder plot that ended two lives and devastated an entire family.
India Kinamore was 26 years old and in the final stages of her pregnancy when she was fatally shot inside her Colerain Township apartment on March 4, 2023.
That date carried an especially painful significance.
It was the same day she was expected to give birth to her son, Kyren.
The Killing of India Kinamore
At approximately 4:33 a.m., a 911 call reported a break-in at India’s apartment in the Hidden Meadows Apartments complex.
Inside the home were India, a child, and another adult.
India had been shot in the chest.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her unborn son also died.
Initially, the crime scene appeared to be a home invasion and burglary.
Investigators would later determine that the evidence pointed in a different direction.
According to Hamilton County prosecutors, India was specifically targeted.
Alleged Murder Plot
Following a lengthy investigation involving cell phone records, financial records, digital evidence, and interviews, authorities alleged that India’s former partner, Kayvon Warren, orchestrated the killing.
Prosecutors say Warren had repeatedly pressured India to terminate her pregnancy.
By the time of the murder, India was too far along in the pregnancy for that to happen.
Authorities allege Warren then recruited others to help carry out the crime.
Investigators uncovered evidence that a group text conversation was used to coordinate the attack.
According to prosecutors, the planning began before the murder occurred.
One of the most disturbing allegations to emerge during the investigation involved Warren requesting bereavement leave from his employer before the killing took place, a detail prosecutors cited as evidence of premeditation.
Authorities also allege that after India’s death, Warren attempted to portray himself publicly as a grieving former partner.
Arrests and Charges
A Hamilton County grand jury returned a 13-count indictment charging three men in connection with the murder.
Kayvon Warren, 30, was identified by prosecutors as the alleged mastermind behind the conspiracy.
Robert Ervin, 20, Warren’s cousin, was also charged after investigators used digital tracking and cell phone data to place him and his vehicle near the crime scene.
Lamar Morris Suggs, 22, Ervin’s half-brother, was already serving time on unrelated weapons charges when he was indicted in the case.
The defendants face charges including aggravated murder, burglary, and felonious assault.
If convicted, they face potential life sentences.
Remembering India
Friends and loved ones remember India as a woman who brought warmth, joy, and love into the lives of those around her.
“India is a beautiful lady in and out,” one friend said. “To know India is to love her. Her soul is pure. Anytime you’re with her, it’s always a good time.”
Her death left a grieving family, a young child without his mother, and a community searching for answers.
India was a daughter.
A mother.
A sister.
A friend.
And on the day she should have welcomed her son into the world, both of their lives were taken.
