Houston, Texas — More than five years after Christopher Mena was killed, his family continues to search for answers in a case that remains unsolved.
Christopher’s cousin, Shante Hinton, contacted The Vivid Faces of the Vanished to help bring renewed attention to his case and the ongoing search for justice.
Christopher Mena was 35 years old.
On November 14, 2020, he was found inside his Jeep Wrangler parked at a Walgreens in the 9200 block of Cullen Boulevard at Reed Road in Houston.
According to reports, Christopher had just completed a demanding 16-hour shift working as a security guard. Exhausted from work, he reportedly pulled into the parking lot to rest before heading home.
What should have been a brief stop became the final hours of his life.

Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage from the area.
The video showed a black Chevrolet Malibu, believed to be a 2007-2013 model, driving past Christopher’s vehicle multiple times.
At some point, suspects exited the vehicle and approached on foot.
One individual was reportedly wearing a camouflage hoodie.
Christopher’s body was discovered around 6:15 a.m., approximately three hours after investigators believe the attack occurred.
According to family members, the evening before had been ordinary.
After completing his work shift on November 13, Christopher returned home, changed clothes, and spent time with friends. When the club they attended closed, he was expected to meet them again at an after-hours location.
He never arrived.
Hours later, he was found inside his 2018 Rubicon Jeep at the Walgreens on Cullen Boulevard and Reed Road.
Family Continues Search for Justice
As of January 2026, the case remains open with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division.
No arrests have been announced.
Christopher’s mother, Marnita Hinton, continues to advocate for her son and keep attention focused on the investigation. Family members say she regularly distributes flyers, speaks with community members, and works with advocates in hopes that someone will come forward with information.
Crime Stoppers of Houston has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest to $15,000.
More than five years later, Christopher’s loved ones continue to seek answers and accountability for the person responsible for taking his life.
