Three Veal Brothers Were Killed in Two Shootings Just Seven Days Apart

New Orleans, Louisiana — February 13 & February 20, 2021

Three brothers.

Two shootings.

Seven days.

By the end of that week, one New Orleans family had lost all 3 of its sons.

Bryan Veal, 26, Bradley Veal, 21, and their older brother Brandon Veal, 30, were extremely close. Their family described them as brothers who grew up together, spent time together and considered one another best friends.

Then, in February 2021, all 3 were killed within the span of a single week.

The First Shooting

On February 13, 2021, Bryan, Brandon and Bradley were together near Washington and Loyola Avenues in New Orleans when a vehicle approached.

Gunfire followed.

Bryan was struck multiple times and died at the scene.

Bradley was shot twice but survived.

Brandon escaped the attack without being struck.

One brother was dead.

Another had been wounded.

And Brandon had just watched both of his younger brothers get shot.

Their family was devastated, but the violence was not over.

Seven Days Later, the Surviving Brothers Were Killed

Exactly 7 days later, on February 20, the Veal family was still preparing to bury Bryan.

That night, Brandon and Bradley went to get food from a McDonald’s on Carondelet Street.

At some point during the evening, they called their father.

He spoke with his sons without knowing it would be the last time he would ever hear their voices.

After Brandon and Bradley left the restaurant, 3 men reportedly emerged from bushes nearby and opened fire.

Once again, the Veal brothers had been targeted.

The shooting happened only blocks from where Bryan had been killed one week earlier.

Neighbors heard the gunfire and rushed outside to help.

There was nothing they could do.

Brandon Veal was dead.

Bradley Veal — who had survived being shot twice just 7 days earlier — was dead too.

One Family Lost All Three Sons

Within one week, all 3 brothers were gone.

Bryan had been killed while walking alongside Brandon and Bradley.

Bradley survived that first attack.

Brandon walked away physically unharmed.

Then, while their family was preparing Bryan’s funeral, the 2 surviving brothers were shot and killed together.

Three brothers from the same family.

Three lives taken in 2 shootings separated by only 7 days and a few blocks.

Their Murders Remain Unsolved

More than 5 years later, no one has been held accountable for killing Bryan Veal.

No one has been held accountable for killing Brandon and Bradley Veal.

And the reason the brothers were targeted remains unanswered publicly.

A family that had been preparing to bury one son suddenly had to bury three.

Someone was inside the vehicle involved in the first shooting.

Three men were reportedly seen approaching Brandon and Bradley before the second.

Yet the case remains unsolved.
