The Disappearance of Pandora Duckett
Memphis, Tennessee — January 28, 2019
Pandora Duckett was 85 years old when she disappeared from Memphis, Tennessee.
She was a grandmother.
She was living with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was a vulnerable elder who never made it back home.
A Walk to the Store
On the morning of January 28, 2019, Pandora left her residence and walked to a nearby convenience store. At some point, she was seen walking alone along a dangerous back road.
Concerned for her safety, a woman identified as Radrika Settles stopped to help her.
According to reports, Radrika became concerned after seeing the elderly woman walking near traffic and offered her a ride.
Pandora reportedly told her she lived near Rosswood and Bolen Huse.
That information was incorrect.
Her actual home was near Rosswood and Egypt Central.
Believing she was helping Pandora return home safely, Radrika drove her to the location Pandora identified. Instead of a residential neighborhood, the location was wooded, isolated, and unfamiliar.
Before leaving, Radrika reportedly asked Pandora several times if she was certain that was where she lived.
Pandora insisted it was.
She allegedly told Radrika she wanted to “stretch her legs.”
She Vanished Within Minutes
Something about the situation immediately felt wrong.
Within minutes, Radrika turned around and drove back to check on Pandora.
Pandora Duckett was gone.
There was no sign of her.
No footprints.
No confirmed sightings.
She had simply vanished.
Extensive Search Efforts
Search efforts began almost immediately.
More than 100 people—including law enforcement officers, volunteers, helicopters, and search teams—searched the surrounding woods and nearby areas for five consecutive days.
Nothing was found.
Radrika later stated that Pandora had only been in her vehicle for a short period and that she stopped only because she feared the elderly woman would be struck by a vehicle. She also stated that she did not know Pandora was living with Alzheimer’s disease.
An Unsolved Disappearance
Seven years later, Pandora Duckett has still never been found.
Her disappearance remains one of Memphis’s most haunting unsolved missing persons cases.
At the time of her disappearance, Pandora was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed about 110 pounds.
