Twenty-six-year-old Kourtney Davis left home expecting to buy a car.
Instead, he vanished without a trace.
More than a decade later, his family is still searching for answers about what happened after he drove away that January afternoon.
A Trip to Look at a Vehicle
On January 16, 2016, Kourtney left home with a friend after arranging to meet someone selling a vehicle in South Jackson.
He was driving his black 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.
The outing appeared routine.
Looking at a vehicle for sale is something people do every day.
But Kourtney never returned home.
The Last Confirmed Sighting
Investigators determined that Kourtney was last seen at Fred’s Discount Store on Terry Road in Jackson.
After that, all contact stopped.
His family never heard from him again.
His phone went silent.
He never called.
He never came home.
His mother immediately sensed something was wrong.
The two spoke every day, and when she did not hear from her son that evening, she reported him missing without delay.
His Camaro Was Found—But Kourtney Was Gone
Not long after his disappearance, Kourtney’s black Chevrolet Camaro was recovered.
The vehicle had been stripped and abandoned.
Kourtney, however, was nowhere to be found.
His cellphone was also missing.
Despite years of investigative efforts, authorities have not announced any arrests or publicly identified any suspects in his disappearance.
A Family Still Waiting
Kourtney’s loved ones have consistently maintained that he would never have voluntarily disappeared or abandoned the people who cared about him.
At the time he vanished, Kourtney was approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighed about 180 pounds, and was 26 years old.
More than ten years have passed, yet his family continues to hope someone will come forward with the information needed to finally learn what happened after he left to look at that vehicle.
