Nearly 16 years have passed, but for Shanae Beacham’s family, time has never erased the pain.
Shanae’s cousin recently reached out to The Vivid Faces of the Vanished, asking us to help share her story and keep her name alive. Like so many families still searching for answers, they refuse to let her case fade into the background.
Today, we are honored to help amplify their plea for justice.
A Night That Changed Everything
On the night of October 26, 2010, at approximately 11:40 p.m., 22-year-old Shanae Beacham was sitting inside a parked vehicle with a friend near Northwest 207th Street and Northwest 41st Avenue in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Without warning, gunfire erupted.
Multiple shots were fired into the vehicle.
Shanae was struck during the attack.
She was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center, where she fought for her life before succumbing to her injuries during the early morning hours of October 27, 2010.
An Unsolved Investigation
According to investigators, the shooting was carried out by two tall, thin Black males with dreadlocks who were wearing dark clothing.
Despite years of investigation, no arrests have ever been made.
Shanae, who was born on April 30, 1988, was a resident of nearby Opa-locka.
She was only 22 years old.
A Family That Refuses to Give Up
Her mother has never stopped fighting for justice.
Over the years, she has stood beside law enforcement, made emotional public pleas, and continued sharing her daughter’s story in hopes that someone with information will finally come forward.
Shanae’s case has also been featured on Crime Stoppers Case Files: South Florida, and investigators continue to circulate her case through social media and community outreach in hopes of generating new leads.
Someone knows who pulled the trigger.
Someone knows who those two men were.
And after all these years, Shanae’s family is still waiting for someone to do the right thing.
A reward of up to $5,500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
